New Initiatives for Members

 

As always, the main stage at the BrandSource Convention was ground zero for new ideas and programs designed to help members meet the challenges of the day. Keeping members profitably in business is our top priority, and we’re constantly looking for new ways to do it.

Price Netter

One of the ways we’re boosting members’ earning power is by reimagining the way rebates are handled. Every dealer knows the annoyance of having to manage instant and mail-in rebates separately and how difficult it is to clearly communicate a net price to customers when rebates are in play. 

 

The new Price Netter Technology feature, a first for the independent channel, can stack both types of promotional offers in order to show the consumer a final price. The new technology will go live in October and will be available only to members. 

Step-Up Strategy 

Savvy retailers know how important add-on sales and selling up can be to their bottom line. The new Step-Up/Spotlight tool is an online trade-up function that suggests to customers similar models or products with additional features at a comparable or modestly higher price.  

 

Like a salesperson’s in-store effort to direct a customer to a more feature-rich SKU for which a dealer has better inventory or obtained a better deal, the Step-Up/Spotlight Strategy will be unique to AVB when it goes live in the fourth quarter. 

Add-On Optimizer 

To further support members’ profitability, AVB has developed an Add-On Optimizer that charts what the national box stores are charging for delivery, installation and haul-away services, and calculates how much additional revenue members could generate by setting fair but comparable rates. 

 

National chains don’t hesitate to raise their delivery/install/haul-away prices when they need to, but independent retailers — who have the best service teams in the country — are sometimes slow to follow suit. We know that members who haven’t updated their rates since 2022 could be missing out on the equivalent of a 3% increase in profit margin. What would an additional 3% mean to your business?
